Ben Karmadi 
(Founder and 
Managing Director)

After a career in hotel management at Sofitel Melbourne, Ben established Habitat in 2014. He holds a degree in hotel management from the Swiss Hotel School in Adelaide, Australia, and a Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu, Australia. Furthering his education, Ben pursued a Master's in Business Commerce from Monash University, leading to a work abroad placement with the European Union in Belgium. Returning to Bali in 2013, his homeland, Ben engaged in consulting and expanding food production companies. Driven by a passion for food, service, and elevating hospitality businesses in Bali, he transformed Habitat into a comprehensive hospitality experience company, assisting investors in running profitable businesses that contribute positively to the Balinese community and environment. Ben's notable achievements include bringing Cafe Del Mar Beach Club to Bali, overseeing aspects such as brand acquisition, location selection, and investment. Presently, he holds a position on the Cafe Del Mar Bali board and actively invests in F&B brands like Soul on The Beach and Shotgun Social.

Theo Poa

A dedicated enthusiast of numbers, spreadsheets, and a keen analyzer of analytics, Theo possesses a distinct expertise in financial budgeting, business modeling, financial management, and legal due diligence. His role primarily involves customizing accounting systems for our clients, facilitating the creation of comprehensive and easily accessible financial reports. His responsibilities encompass conducting feasibility studies, crafting budgets and business forecasts, and scrutinizing the financial statements of businesses. Leveraging his experience and analytical acumen, Theo excels in identifying ventures that promise a robust return on investment, aligning them with established benchmarks. He consistently conducts periodic assessments and reviews of business portfolios, offering insightful recommendations for investment adjustments. With a seasoned background as a finance manager, Theo has successfully managed notable companies, including the Hard Rock Cafe Bali, BaliSpirit Group, Seniman Industries, Bali Bohemia Restaurant, Batu Bara Restaurant, among many others.

Maeve Nelligan

Maeve, originally from London and now a Bali resident, possesses strong communication and people skills, and she thrives on crafting compelling narratives and strategic solutions for businesses to create robust brand experiences. With a degree in Journalism from Cardiff University, she brings a wealth of experience from her background in marketing and sales across leisure, wellness, and beauty industries. Drawn to Bali's enchantment, she quickly relocated to Ubud, where she played a pivotal role in the marketing and events team for BaliSpirit Festival and The Yoga Barn. In 2020, she transitioned into sales management within the leisure and hospitality sector, working with Kevala Ceramics, a prominent ceramic design and production company in South East Asia. Here, she gained valuable insights into hospitality product branding, design, and project management. Joining Habitat Hospitality in 2022, Maeve has taken the lead in the marketing and design team, driving the development of innovative brand concepts and creating marketing collateral. Her role also involves providing ongoing consulting and marketing management for Habitat's clients across Bali, making her a valuable asset in enhancing brand experiences.
